Leaving LawLytics: Classic, AI, and what your firm can take
LawLytics now runs two sets of terms. Classic lets a departing firm take its site's structure, colors and fonts. LawLytics AI, since October 15, 2026, keeps the designs and gives you 30 days to export. We read every version of LawLytics' terms since 2016, and the promises it took off its website this month.
When do you have to cancel, and when do you have to export?
Pick your plan and enter the date you signed up. LawLytics bills from that day each month or year, and renews unless you cancel in time.
- First term, and the term your notice falls in
- Renewals
- Notice deadline
- Service ends
- Export window

What LawLytics promised, and when it stopped
For seven years LawLytics told firms they'd always own their website and wouldn't be locked in. In October 2026 those lines came down, the same month its AI terms took the designs back.
- 2016
The look and feel was LawLytics'
Its first public terms licensed template designs only for the membership, to be surrendered when it ended.
- 2021 – today, Classic
Structure, colors and fonts could leave
The Classic terms let a departing firm take its domain, structure, colors, fonts, images and written content, with site files on request. Only the code stayed.
- Oct 15, 2026
The designs are LawLytics' again
The LawLytics AI terms keep its software, branding and designs, and give a firm 30 days after its account ends to export what it submitted.
- May – Oct 2026
The promises come down
"You'll always own your firm's website" and "We won't lock you into a long-term contract" were on LawLytics' About page until at least May 13, 2026. The live page has neither, and the FAQ is a placeholder.

Content moves by hand
A developer who looked over a LawLytics site said there was no content export, so a move meant copying pages over by hand.
Get your files before you cancel
Classic sends site files on request; LawLytics AI gives you 30 days after the account ends. Either way, collect everything first, then cancel in time.
- A month out
Ask for your site files
The Classic terms say LawLytics will provide your site files on request. Ask in writing, and ask what they include.
- The same week
Save what isn't in them
Copy your redirect list, save your form leads, and note which images and logo came from LawLytics.
- Two weeks out
Check your domain and DNS
The domain is yours. If you used LawLytics' DNS service, move the records to your registrar first.
- Before the deadline
Cancel in Billing
Classic: at least 10 days before renewal. LawLytics AI: at least five business days before the cycle ends. If someone other than the account owner cancels, LawLytics asks for ten business days.
- Before the period ends
Approve, then switch
Point your domain at the new site before your paid period runs out, so the site never goes dark.
- Within 30 days
Export anything left (AI)
On LawLytics AI, the export window closes 30 days after the account ends.
The request to send first
Copy it, fill in the brackets, and email it to LawLytics support. It doesn't cancel anything.

A site built for your firm, in our own code
We rebuild from what you take with you, at the same addresses, in a design that's yours to keep. We may cost more than LawLytics; here's what the difference buys.
Rebuilt from your site files
Your structure, words, colors and fonts, at the addresses they have today, in our own code.
Rebuilt from your export
Send us what you export in the 30 days, and we rebuild from it, with your own photos in place of generated ones.

- A design built for your firm; if you leave us, you take an HTML copy of every page, once fees are paid
- Changes you email us, live within two business days
- Every page at its current address, with the same title and description
- We watch your search traffic for a month after launch
- Your content, exportable whenever you like
From $400 a month for up to 25 pages and posts, or $1,000 for up to 250. Billed annually, migration included. That's more than LawLytics' Starter or Growth plans.
On Business, from $1,300 a month, an optional marketing consultant runs your SEO and ads, priced into your quote. Nobody can honestly promise rankings or leads, and we don't.
What firms ask before leaving LawLytics
Anything else? Ask us directly. A person will answer.
Do I own my LawLytics website?
It depends on your plan. Under the Classic terms you can take your domain, structure, colors, fonts, images you own and written content, and LawLytics provides your site files on request. Under the LawLytics AI terms, LawLytics keeps its designs, and you can export what you submitted for 30 days after your account ends. Neither gives you the code or the control panel.
How do I cancel LawLytics?
In Billing. On Classic, cancel at least 10 days before your renewal date. On LawLytics AI, cancel at least five business days before your billing cycle ends. Annual billing on LawLytics AI is a one-year commitment, and prepaid fees aren't refunded under either.
Is LawLytics Classic going away?
LawLytics says it plans to keep supporting and hosting Classic for the foreseeable future. Classic no longer takes new firms: firms that signed up from Oct 10, 2026 are on LawLytics AI.
What changes if I move from Classic to LawLytics AI?
Your account comes under the AI terms: LawLytics keeps the designs, and the 30-day export window replaces Classic's site files on request. Classic members keep their old price only on Pro, and only while they pay the same amount without a lapse.
Can I get a refund?
Not of prepaid fees, under either set of terms. A 60-day money-back guarantee appeared in LawLytics' October 2022 terms and was gone by January 2023.
What have firms paid LawLytics?
Its prices are published now: $99 to $1,499 a month on LawLytics AI. Before that, firms on Reddit reported paying $200 a month in 2021 and about $250 in 2024, and being offered $320 a month in February 2024. LawLytics' own archived pages show $179 or $225 a month for Classic in 2022.
Can I move my LawLytics site to WordPress?
Yes, but not as is: LawLytics keeps its code and control panel, so the site gets rebuilt from your files and content. On WordPress you'll also need hosting and someone to keep plugins up to date. We rebuild on our own platform instead, with hosting and upkeep in one fixed monthly price.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if every page keeps its address, title and description, and anything that has to move gets a permanent redirect. Copy your LawLytics redirect list first. Rankings can wobble after any move, and nobody can promise them.
