Privacy policy

This policy covers faircopydigital.com, run by FairCopy Digital ("FairCopy," "we"). The short version: we collect what you choose to send us, we use it to answer you, and we never sell it.
What we collect
What you send us. When you ask for a free savings audit, we get your name, email address, website address, what you pay each month, and anything you write in the message box. If you email us, we get your message and email address.
What any web server sees. Like every website, ours receives your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, and the time. Our hosting provider keeps these logs for a short time so we can keep the site secure and fix problems. We don't use them to profile you.
Visitor counts. We use privacy-friendly analytics to see which pages people read, which sites sent them here, and their country and type of device, all in aggregate. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you to other websites. It's switched off for visitors in the European Union.
What we don't collect. We don't run advertising trackers or social media pixels, and we don't set cookies for visitors. The only cookies on this site are for our own staff when they sign in to edit it.
How we use it
We use your details to prepare your audit, reply to you, and, if you become a client, to do the work we agree on. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.
Who else handles it
A few service providers handle your information so we can run this site, and only for that purpose:
- Our hosting provider, which runs the site and stores audit requests.
- Our email provider, which delivers audit requests to our inbox.
- Our backup storage, which keeps an encrypted copy in a separate, locked account in case something goes wrong.
We'll also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if FairCopy is ever sold, who would then be bound by this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep audit requests for two years after we last hear from you, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep what we need for as long as we work together, plus whatever records tax and business law require. Backup copies expire on their own within a year.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, wherever you live. Write to hello@faircopydigital.com and we'll take care of it.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We don't track you across websites, so there's nothing for these signals to switch off. We treat them as a request not to be tracked anyway.
Security
The site only loads over an encrypted connection, and only the people who prepare audits can read your details. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold small, which limits what could ever go wrong.
Children
This site is for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and we'll delete it if we learn we have.
Websites we host for clients
When we host a client's website, the information their visitors share belongs to that client. We handle it only on their behalf, as our agreement with them says, and their own privacy policy applies.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you first.
